Funny Signs

13 December 2009 77 Comments

We drive up and down streets filled with signs, we walk all over town joking and talking with our friends,  some of the road signs we might glance at, we might laugh at a random sign if someone points it out.  Some of the signs seem normal until you look around at where they were carefully placed.

Do you ever wonder how many funny or bizarre signs you pass by without even noticing?

Here’s what you’ve been missing!

Too stupidly funny! We saw a restaurant whose sign advertised their famous chili. Right next to it was a sign that read “Get Gas Here!” (a gas station was in the same parking lot as the chili house.) lol

  • Coach Mattman said:

Free Tacos Yesterday!!! That is good marketing.

  • stella said:

I can’t help thinking all these puns are intended. Too much coincidence.

  • jeffvt said:

what’s so funny about the vermont maple syrup sign? I mean, we make maple syrup and we sell it in almost every store you go in. so…

  • emike said:

jefft: look at the shape of vermont state with the bucket and the tap. What do you think?

Stumbled, nice one, I love all of them.

  • atul said:

well..seriously one of the most hilarious thing i have seen..LOL

  • MIRAST said:

jeffvt – my guess is that the shape of the state and spout resembles a guy peeing in a bucket.

  • GrammaB said:

Recently saw a McDonalds sign that read “Black Agnus burgers” in Newport News, VA

  • Wesley said:

JeffVT…your question made that maple sign even funnier…now i see how these things happen!

  • anonymous said:

I’m with you jeffvt. I don’t get that one. MIRAST, It looks nothing like a guy peeing in a bucket. the rest of them are pretty funny, though.

  • Laura said:

Call me stupid, but I don’t understand the sheep one…

  • Guy said:

Laura, how many special occasions would you bring a sheep to? Unless you are going to some, “single sheppard” event.

Oh, and I would never call you stupid. Well, unless you are into that sort of thing. (to much? did I make this weird? Creepy? O.k. I’m going to shut up now.)

  • Kaz6 said:

Great, thanks for the laugh …………… stumbled this, will share with others!

  • neki said:

You have obviously never been anywhere near Balkan if you think that this ’sheep-special situation’ thing is awkward.

  • Brenner said:

    ass fragrence hahaha

  • elena said:

the S and Y on the SleasY sign looks suspiciously familiar, hmm….. Subway anyone?? photoshop anyone?? that one is definitely fake.

  • missy kid said:

wowee love the rape 1 we <3 rape!!!!!

  • Matt said:

    @ elena

Seriously? Are (former) Subway locations never put up for lease?

Fake? I guess you can tell from the pixels. Hmmm.

  • joshyboy said:

Honestly the fudge one was the one that got me but i mean the gas station with the “we got worms in the rear” was really great…..

And the whole “sleasey photoshop thing” don’t you have to blur out phone numbers anyway? and i mean i have seen some Subway’s for lease in certain locations…. (just saying)

BUt mainly i loved them all…. what a great morning!!!

  • Norman said:

    Very funny,
It’s a bit like Jay Lenno Monday’s Headlines, some people just don’t read back what they did befor advertizing it.

  • 007candy said:

    These are very cute!

  • Social skills said:

Haha. These are great. I loved the risk management services the best. That AC unit looked mighty safe. It must of been placed in west virginia somewhere I’d imagine.

  • funny and weird things said:

Awesome great post. I had a good laugh. Thanks

  • Rei said:

Haha, I’d say most of those signs are from disgruntled employees, especially the taco one.
And anyone who can’t see the guy peeing in the bucket just doesn’t want to! Their minds aren’t perverted enough. Loosen up, eh?
    ;D

  • Moe said:

I couldn’t pass up that ass fragrance deal. Excellent stocking stuffer ya know.

  • bundyxc said:

I wonder if people ever think about what they’re doing. Apparently not…

  • Tom Mouridsen said:

Very funny indeed… Made a good day even better… Free Tacos yesterday… Lolness…

  • Jeff said:

Nice. A good laugh….even better was the clueless “Photoshopped” comment.

  • Rob said:

What the hell is up with that sign above the toilet??

I can’t believe no one has commented on that one.

  • Keira said:

Thanks for a good laugh :)

  • RD said:

I saw one yesterday that said:

“Under the same management for more than 2000 years”

    It was a church! LOL

Thanks to the link from Duhism.com, I got the best laugh I have had in a while. Glad to see that BK has a great sense of humor. I love the Vermont sign, it resembles exactly what the mind wants to see. Thanks for posting these.

  • Michelle said:

I’m trying to figure out what the sign at Manning Motel was ACTUALLY supposed to say…
    These are hilarious!

  • Sherry Krueger said:

The office and I actually laughed out loud. My favorite is the “weekly Rapes Available”

Hilarious!! Keep up the great work.

  • shiv kumar said:

    Nice work !!!!!

  • Fatcat said:

I don’t think I’ll be buying Maple syrup any time soon.

  • User said:

Hey JeffVT, I’m also VT. You need to get out more. Could that be a profile shot of a guy wearing green trousers that couldn’t find a urinal in time, but he found a red bucket instead? That’s “the laff,” Jeff. It’s pretty funny, when you think about it. Don’t spend too much time thinking ’bout it.

  • Wanda said:

You missed Joe’s Crab Shack who advertises free crabs tomorrow.

  • Doug said:

    ROFLMAO!!!

  • ers said:

Very humerous, but don’t try to confuse me with the facts….

  • bb said:

    In redlands

  • electronic cigarette said:

I live in a small town and we have a few silly signs like that that have been up for years!

[...] Funny signs; Um, treat yourself to a girl scout? That’s just plain disturbing, ladies & gents. [...]

  • Emily S said:

The Subway Sleasey is not a fake. Honest. They had that about 5 minutes from my house. Opened a Subway, did badly, put it up for lease, and now it’s a Subway again. Just bad placement in the sign. Made my day every time I drove past it. =]

  • Chris said:

I think my favorite was the flush before drinking sign. I did really enjoy the BK sign though, it shows they have a sense of humor.

  • Custom Signs Guy said:

Ha, thanks for compiling a great list of funny signs :) I’m sure there’s a ton more if we open our eyes to them! Some of them are to be honest in bad taste but I get the humor in them, hehe.

It’s also hard to believe that these are signs that are out there that weren’t intended to be funny but are..at least when featured like this. I agree with Chris above and admire a BK that has a sense of humor. I wonder if that violates any franchise guidelines? haha

  • shalafarky said:

    flush before drinking? WTF?

  • keagan said:

all r very funny, but i dont get the aisle 18 one…can anybody explain that one to me?

  • Baby needs pain said:

Keagan, I’m sure it’s something to do with the sign saying, “Baby needs pain.” It’s one of those things that is wrong and funny all at the same time.

  • Megan said:

Meth Bible Camp! That’ll bring in people for sure. Oh wait, the other sign says dead end.

  • JAB_au said:

I should give the risk management one to the OH&S people at work, they might enjoy it.

  • Henry said:

Hey, nice stuff.. keep bringing it!
