it’s one bolt of lightning, you pillocks, the shutter had to be held open b/c it’s night, and fstop open wide to accept as much light as possible. the reason it looks so big is because it’s soo freaking bright, it’s overexposed for a camera set up for low light conditions.

It was more than one strike. The pick was taken at night with the shutter held open. There was a lightning attractor (lightning rod) of some type therefore multiple strikes in the same location. Nevertheless, lightning is difficult to catch on film in the best of conditions. Great pic.
